Thanks to everyone who made it out to our record release shows last weekend! Friday night at Spaceland will live forever in our hearts as one of the funnest crowds we’ve ever played for. Just posted a few photos from the show on our Flickr page. In case you forgot to pick up a copy of the new EP, you can find it locally at Origami Vinyl in Echo Park and Amoeba Records in Hollywood. The record is also available on Itunes and via most other major digital retailers.
So…what’s next, you ask? Well, as they say- there is no rest for the weary (or is that the wicked? Both apply I suppose.). We’re back in the studio this weekend to work on a handful of new songs for a full-length that we hope to start recording later this year. We’re also in the planning stages, working out the details with director Kevin McLaughlin for a new video for “If We Dare Win”. And there is talk of another West Coast tour this Summer. More on that later…
Join us tonight at Spaceland as we celebrate the release of our new vinyl 12″, If We Dare Win. We’ve put together a pretty radical night of live music including some of our favorite LA bands- The World Record, Death to Anders & Never At Night. Details below.
1717 Silver Lake Blvd. / $8 / 21+ / Doors at 8:30
Also, we will be doing a very special acoustic performance tomorrow afternoon at Origami Vinyl on Sunset. The show is FREE and ALL AGES for those of you who may be a little short on cash or are not of legal drinking age.
Keith & Tony met up with Loudvine.com earlier this week in this really awesome park in Playa Del Rey to discuss Amateurs’ past, present & future. The best part was- they asked us to bring our instruments along! Check out an acoustic rendition of “Chain Reaction” below and watch the entire interview right here.
ONE WEEK to go until the official release of our new limited edition 12″ vinyl EP, If We Dare Win. We thought a full preview might be in order, so that you could get acquainted before the record drops. Check out the track list below and listen to the songs in that sequence right here. Enjoy!
Did you pick up some new vinyl this Saturday for National Record Store Day?
Don’t feel bad if you forgot - 20% of the Amateurs didn’t remember either. Still, like our forgetful 20% pointed out - you can always buy some new music tomorrow. Supporting your local record store is awesome.
Speaking of awesome, the weather man says that this little heat wave will be over soon - just in time for our show at the Echo on Thursday. We’re totally stoked to share the stage with Dawes - they recently played a bunch of shows with Jenny Lewis and are just about to head out on a cross-country tour with Ben Lee and Low vs. Diamond.
